This Privacy Policy explains what information the Civilszy website (civilszy.com) collects when you use it, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have kept it short and in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
Civilszy is an educational website for UPSC Civil Services exam preparation. The site is run by Civilszy. You can reach us at info@civilszy.com.
The short version
- You do not need an account to read Civilszy, and the site does not currently have a sign-up form or a comment form.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- The site does not currently show advertisements.
Information we collect
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web server records basic technical details when a page is requested: your IP address, the type of browser and device, the pages you ask for, the date and time, and the page that sent you here. Our hosting provider keeps this in server logs. It is used to keep the site secure, to fix problems and to understand overall traffic.
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you.
Search. When you type in the search box, your search words are sent to our own website to find matching articles. We do not use them to identify you.
Cookies and similar technologies
- WordPress, the system that runs our articles, sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. We do not give ordinary visitors advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your browser’s temporary storage is used to remember the list of site sections for about 15 minutes, so that pages open faster. It contains no personal information.
- If an article embeds a video or other content from another service, such as YouTube, that service may set its own cookies when you play it.
At the time of writing we do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add them in future, we will update this page and explain what they do.
Services from other companies
- Google Fonts. Our pages load the Inter typeface from Google’s servers. This means your browser contacts Google, which can see your IP address. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that.
- YouTube. Links to our YouTube channel open YouTube, which has its own privacy policy.
- Sharing buttons. The WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook and X buttons on articles take you to those services only when you click them.
- Other websites. We may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the website.
- To reply to your messages.
- To understand which sections are useful, so that we can improve them.
- To follow the law where required.
Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that help us run the site (such as our hosting provider), when the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the site, but no website or internet connection is completely secure.
Children
Civilszy is written for students and aspirants preparing for competitive exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it, by emailing info@civilszy.com. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We handle personal information in line with the laws of India that apply to us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
